At Bismillah Babies, our impact extends to both children and mothers, fostering a holistic environment where faith, learning, and community flourish. Here’s how we’ve made a difference:

For Children

Since our inception, we have run over 50 weekly playgroup sessions, attended by children from newborn babies all the way up to pre-schoolers.

Free and Imaginative Play

We provide a space where children can explore, create, and grow through unstructured play, fostering their curiosity and creativity.

Safe Environment

Our playgroup ensures a secure and welcoming space for little ones to feel at ease while engaging in meaningful activities

Arts and Crafts Activities

Children get hands-on with creative projects, enhancing their fine motor skills and self-expression

Weekly Islamic Themes

Through engaging sessions, we introduce foundational Islamic teachings and stories. Topics have included the Five Pillars of Islam, the stories of the Prophets, Ramadan preparations, and our interactive “Little Pilgrims Hajj” experience.

Sensory Play Activities

We bring Islamic concepts to life through sensory play. Highlights include our “Sensory Safari,” where children learned about animals mentioned in the Quran and the story of Aadam (a.s.) while walking through a sensory recreation of the rivers of paradise.

Educational Trips

A visit to the pumpkin patch to learn about one of the Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) favourite foods.

Our outings inspire a connection with Allah’s creation and prophetic traditions. Trips have included:

St Fagan’s Museum to see baby lambs and reflect on the miracle of new life.

Slimbridge Wetlands to marvel at the beauty of Allah’s creations in nature.

For Mothers and Families

Weekly sister's circle

Where mamas can share the joys and struggles of motherhood and faith in a supportive environment, over a hot cup of coffee.

Health Advocacy

We have organised discussions and workshops on topics such as maternal mental health, childhood vaccinations, children’s first aid, nutrition for motherhood, pelvic floor health, and Sunnah medicines and remedies.

Community Fundraisers

Through the collective efforts of our members, we’ve supported local and global causes:

Raising over £3,000 for Palestine through community breakfasts.

Bismillah Babies Make Eid Gift Bags for the Children of Syria

With a hearts full of love and compassion, Bismillah Babies came together to put together over 180 Eid gift bags for children in Syria. Families and the wider community donated brand-new toys, while our little ones poured their love into decorating heartfelt Eid cards and carefully filling each bag. As they engaged in hands-on learning about sadaqah and the importance of sharing the good we have with our brothers and sisters across the world, they developed a deep sense of empathy and generosity. Alhamdulillah, this initiative not only brought joy to children in Syria, but also nurtured a sense of love, unity, and connection between little hearts across the globe.

We organised a Pen-y-Fan Sunrise hike in April 2023, raising £1,300 for local masjids.

Through these initiatives, Bismillah Babies has become a cornerstone of support, learning, and joy for Muslim families in Cardiff. By nurturing young hearts and empowering mothers, we aim to continue creating a positive and lasting impact, inshaAllah.
